Christmas festivities have started  for the vibrant  Bulgarian community in New York with a concert of Young Bulgarian Voices  ( a youth choir and school) at the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocesan  Cathedral on 50th Street and 10th Ave in Manhattan.
The  angel voices of the children singing a cappella songs have  filled the nave of the cathedral and the hearts of the audience with  joy, hope and light. On the eve of the brightest Christian holiday,  music and children brought Bulgarian expatriate community in New  York together to enjoy a beautiful perfomance.

The director, Daniela Atanasova, lead the choir through a sophisticated repertoire of polyphonic  classical and traditional songs. The performance culminated with the children, priests, and audience singing together the classic  prayer song “Mnogaya leta” wishing for peace, prosperity and happiness  for years to come.

Young Bulgarian Voices New York is a cultural  organization  that has been teaching Bulgarian language to bilingual children and  youths from the tri-state area through choral singing and progressive  methods. This year the initiative celebrates its 10th anniversary. It brings together lovers of Bulgarian culture and music from  different backgrounds and generations to celebrate and keep alive the rich Bulgarian traditions.
